Daily Novena Prayer
Breathe in me,
O Holy Spirit,
that I may think
what is Holy.
Guide me, O Holy Spirit,
that I may realize,
what is Holy.
Attract me to you,
O Holy Spirit
that I may love
what is Holy
Strengthen me,
O Holy Spirit,
that I may defend
what is Holy.
Defend me, O Holy Spirit
that I may never lose
what is Holy.
:: YOUR NEED

Below you can find some points of reflection to help you to choose the right path in your life

  • What is the basic requirement that you expect from a candidate?
Vocation is normally not something that comes saddenly, but a feeling of the presence of the Lord and his love with a corresponding answer in serving him, through prayer, active Christian life, apostolate, etc.
  • What is the age requirement?
St. Augustine found a new life, and decided to serve the Lord when he was already thirty three. Candidates with higher age, will be considered was special cases, and normally oriented preferably to the OAD brotherhood rather then priesthood.
  • Do you accept professional candidates?
Yes, possibly with a college degree, or if applying for brotherhood, with some special skills.
  • Do you accept former seminarians?
Yes, but an endorsement letter of the former formators is requested.
  • What is the formation program that a candidate will undergo?
Before anything else the candidate is invited for some days of observation and discernment in the OAD Community. If accepted, the candidate will have a time for aspirancy ( according to school level), if already graduate he will be a prepostulant for some months, becoming a postulant for six months to one Year, undergoing the special preparatory year, and if mature enough and decided in following the OAD way, as a descalced, which means, sober, simple, free, giving up everything, and on a communitarian way which is the basic Augustinan way common to the several Augustinian families (OSA, OAR, AA, etc), follows the novitiate (one year) and the theological studies. (four years)
  • What is the charism of the Congregation?
To serve the most high in spirit of humility (fourth vow, beside chastity, poverty and obedience), bringing people close to God, and God close to people, so the OAD are open to all the ministries, according to the skills and talents of its members and the needs of the church (media, youth, parishes, schools, retreats, hospitals, social service to the needy, etc). Being a contemplative missionary congregation with the existence of 400 Years as a reform of the Augustinian Order requested by the Council of Trent and with the presence of ten years in the Philippines ( three mission centers in Cebu, Mindanao, Leyte).
